Who’s behind it?

The Healthy Heroes Programme is part of the Rotary Campaign for Better Health.  The brainchild of Laury Sinclair and the Rotary Club of Wellington North it's a big step towards of helping Kiwis to live longer lives through a strong culture of health.

The Programme’s Policy Base

The Healthy Heroes programme brings together the best ideas from:

The Ministry of Health.

Their Healthy Eating Healthy Action (HeHa) policy is based on excellent research, and we've taken on board a lot of it.

The Ministry of Education.

They've built the best of the health ministry's policies into the school curriculum.

Sport and Recreation New Zealand (Sparc).

They promote 30 minutes a day of physical activity as the minimum for good health. Thousands of Kiwis have been inspired to get active by their Push Play 30 Minutes a Day and Active Movement for Children from a Young Age campaigns.

The holistic nature of Maori Hauora (or well-being).
